☕️ The Origins: Podcast with a Stranger?!
How did I end up co-hosting a podcast with a random New Yorker? Spoiler alert: I had never met Mimi in person before we agreed to do a podcast together! 😲 We connected on the audio app Clubhouse, co-hosting rooms for nearly three years before we finally met IRL. And guess what? We hit it off in person just as much as we did online! 🙌 Since then, we’ve only met up two more times, and, miraculously, no one has been injured! 😂
🎙️ Real Talk: Are We Really Like This Off-Air?
Short answer? YES! Mimi and I are exactly what you hear: quirky, fun, and just the right amount of chaos. 😆 We hype each other up, roast each other occasionally, and pour our hearts into every episode of Coffee Social. We’ve come a long way since being “baby podcasters” last year, and now that we’re “toddler podcasters” in Season 2, the stakes (and fun) are higher! 👶🎧 But let’s be real — podcasting isn’t all smooth sailing. Between planning, recording, and editing, there’s plenty of stress. Yet the only serious argument we’ve had was over… YouTube covers and episode titles! 🎨 Yep, 18 hours of radio silence. But we always bounce back with respect and laughter!
🎤 Recording Shenanigans: Always Spontaneous, Sometimes Scary!
Oh. Em. Gee. Recording episodes is such a blast for me — but Mimi? Well, she’s probably scared half the time! 😅 We typically follow an outline Mimi prepares, but here’s the kicker: she never knows what I’m going to say! (Remember the random Stanley Cup rant, Mimi? 😜) It’s spontaneous, it’s unpredictable, and that’s what keeps it real. And hopefully entertaining for all of you!
